Jhatpat Sweet Potato Chaat

I tasted this street food in Delhi near India Gate. I was so tempted to try this, though I was not hungry I ate this to taste it because I never ever saw this kind of chaat. SM who never likes to eat sweet potato ate the entire plate and asked me to make this chaat at home. After trial and error I got it correct. The key to this is not to overcook sweet potato.
So here goes the recipe… Happy cooking…

Ingredients:

Sweet potato – 1 big
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Chaat masala – ½ tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Water as required

Method:

Cut the boiled sweet potato in cubes
Add all the spices and mix it well

Pressure cook sweet potato in a cup of water for 3-5 minutes. Peel the skin and cut into cubes.
In a vessel add the cubes, red chilli powder, chaat masala, salt and lemon juice and mix well. Garnish it with coriander sprig and serve.

Note: Sweet potato should be cooked just right otherwise it will become mushy. I cooked it in oven for 3 minutes but if you have cooker, you should not add more water, just a cup will be sufficient and cook for 3-5 minutes only.
