Choco Oats cookies

I am experimenting baking and trying healthy baking. So instead of all purpose flour, I am using whole wheat flour. and I had this recipe saved in drafts for long time. I replaced plain flour with wheat flour and tweaked a little and came up with this one. If you wish you can use 50% plain flour and 50% wheat flour or with plain flour completely.  Adding oats gave it a little crunch and bite. Of course you can add nuts and give it a nutty twist. So here's the recipe... Happy cooking...

Ingredients:

Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
Oats - 1 cup
Butter - 1/2 cup(at room temperature)
Cocoa powder - 1 tbsp
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Honey - 3/4 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Vanilla essence - 2-3 drops

Method:

In a large bowl put in the butter, honey, vanilla and beat until smooth and creamy.

In another bowl, assemble all the dry ingredients, the oats, flour, cinnamon powder, cocoa powder and baking powder and mix well.

Mix in the dry ingredients into the butter mixture and knead briefly until the cookie dough comes together.

Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Divide the mixture into equal parts and form into round balls.
Place on a greased or non stick cookie tray at a distance from each other.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes for a chewy cookie and 25 to 30 minutes for crisp cookies.
